About The Artwork

He rambled out onto the pond several yards before realizing he was walking on water despite the "psh psh psh" of each footfall. He had only thought (to himself as there were no witnesses to see this miracle nor listeners to eavesdrop on his reveries) only thought of where he was going and not how he would arrive there. The breeze was cool, his hands were hot (they always were) and he had places to be. Nearby in a red leafed Maple tree (perhaps this was happening in Bamberg or Zhovkva ) a Starling was building a makeshift nest deploying dead grass, bits of string, broken twigs, plastic six pack holders, filthy cloth (lets say fine muslin but if imagining coarse burlap is easier to picture imagine that) the tendons from a rotting squirrel corpse, cardboard, the hair of a dog, frayed extension chord and the delicate ribs of a rainbow trout. "Yes, yes nicely this will do" like Yoda she spoke congratulating herself with a whistle and a coo. Far above this construction site a series of Cirrus clouds were morphing from one ambiguous formation to another. Soundless and thoughtless they shifted shapes from entangled swords to ship-like to elephantine; they were a freewheeling animation in, of and on the vacuum of the sky. Motivated by the weather (who isnt?) Driven by pressure systems (again, that tracks with daily life) and utterly unobligated to please (check!) None of the aforementioned, due to distance or indifference or both could hear "Für Elise" being hummed by a painter daubing beyond the garden wall of a temporary home in the south of France. Can you hear her dear reader? She's not long for the world. Listen closely and conjure "Für Elise" inside your mind. Soon the aggressor will kick over her easel and mock her delusory sense of freedom and spirit her away into immutable clouds of gas.
