About The Artwork

Burying beetles or sexton beetles, genus Nicrophorus, are the best-known members of the family Silphidae. Most of these beetles are black with red markings on the elytra. Burying beetles are true to their name—they bury the carcasses of small vertebrates such as birds and rodents as a food source for their larvae. They are unusual among insects in that both the male and female parents take care of the brood. They are carnivores. -- Wikipedia

Lives and works in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada – just a bit north of Toronto. After many years of writing fiction and sculpting, I decided to follow in my mother’s footsteps and paint. She made beautiful oil on canvas landscapes. I was inspired by the early images from the James Webb telescope. They absolutely blew me away. The universe is so expansive and turbulent it boggles comprehension! These are images that no human has ever seen. With my paintings, photographs and sculptures, I wish to present images that are arresting, turbulent and expansive; with colours that inspire visions of creativity and light.
