About The Artwork
Broken Toy is an abandoned Barbie, that has been left on the street She is mostly perfect but because she had a slight defect she was thrown to the side where various incidents have just made her more broken. Although I painted it thinking epilepsy I think it can be applied to all situations which leave a person feeling broken, whether it be sexual assault, abuse, depression among a million other things. The painting takes place in the 90s in the UK.
