About The Artwork
In 2020, during the beginnings of the pandemic, I asked myself, 'if you could paint one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?' My answer is and always will be: cells, circles, ovals, seeds, pods, orbs...for these represent basic sacred structures for life formation. There is an inherent sacred geometry and beauty to coordinate and compile them together amidst the chaos, creating abstract floating environments. In this painting on paper, I combine the use of graphite sketching with acrylic painting and cell shapes collaged onto the surface. I kept the colors light and bright, to give the feeling of hope.
