A Bachelor of Arts in Communication graduate from Miriam College, Philippines, Pamela is an advocate of alternative communication through relevant artistic media. She found painting to be the most compelling. She believes in expressing her thoughts, however momentous, insignificant, or random they may be to the world, through her artwork. She characterizes her style as figurative, feminine and arbitrary, oftentimes bordering socio-political arguments. A proponent of equal opportunity for women, she also draws insight from the role of women in our present society. Sometimes her work can be seen as self portraiture of her private life using iconic female figures. Working in layers, she incorporates motifs drawn from both her own life experience and from the people around her in her latest works. Her main focus is to engage the viewer to sense a connection in her subject matter and provoke discussion. Now based in Zurich, having started painting professionally in 2010, Pamela's work has been received well in Switzerland and abroad. Adding to her accolades are numerous digital display of her work in iconic locations such as Times Square New York in 2012 and art fairs such as Art Basel Miami in 2013. She had several solo and group shows within Switzerland and abroad. She has also participated in prestigious art fairs such as Art International Zurich, Manila Art 2015 where her work was sold out, SCOPE Basel 2016 and Art Shopping Carroussel du Louvre in Paris 2016. Collectors from several continents have already acquired her works in a short timespan. Her artwork appeals to a wide range of audiences. Pamela believes that art is entirely subjective, and that it should not take too long to form an opinion on an artwork. It should not be a forced litigation. She believes that we should rely on our senses. She paints subjects that are engaging to the mind and soul, generally feminine, tender, and cunning, employing colors that are pleasant to the eyes. Her recent works reflect trending socio-political issues, presented in a subtle, yet solid approach. The use of metal, hard and mindless objects are frequently incorporated to contrast with her delicate subjects.
