About The Artwork
This oil painting was inspired by "the Dictionary of Angels" as well as by John Milton's book "Paradise Lost". I find it highly fascinating how many Angels are found in ancient writings and how they are described. "Azza-el" Also spelled Azazael, is the Hebrew word for "scapegoat." According to some Cabbalistic writers, he was one of the four standard bearers of Satan's army. Enoch's lore and sources state: "And Azazel taught men to make swords and knives and shields and breastplates; and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them; and bracelets and ornaments; and the use of antimony and the beautifying of the eyelids; and all kinds of costly stones and all colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray and became corrupt in all their ways". "The corruption brought on by Azazel and the Grigori degrades the human race, and the four archangels...."

Coming from a long line of visual artists and graphic designers, as well as poets and Arts Teachers, I myself went working in pre-press design, graphic design and finally took a chance to study Fine Arts. I earned my Bachelor as well as my Masters of Fine Arts in Germany, at the renown State Academy for fine Arts in Karlsruhe. Where I worked with internationally well known artists like Franz Ackermann (who was my mentor when I was his Master Student) Antje Majevski, Andreas Slominski, Simone Wester Winter, Gerd van Dülmen and Horst Antes. While working as a professional artist in Loss Angeles, I also teach kids and teens Fine Arts Classes at my studio.
