About The Artwork
I created this artwork because I was inspired by the Matthew Passion of J.S Bach. He composed 14 aria's and I painted 14 pieces with the same sizes. This aria , no 10, shows the ultimate love and I hope that the viewer will recognize what was my intention to show. All the paintings are made in oil on canvas and are abstract. The serie is not complete anymore because some of them are sold. A lot of people are deeply touched by the artwork.

Jan (Wierden 1948). In the beginning he painted how it was teached, in a realistic and impressionistic way. Bit by bit the landscapes lost their horizons and their structure of creating space. More an more his work became expressionistic and abstract. Music, especially classical music is a big source of inspiration. Nowadays he is painting a serie with 'Fantasy Landscapes' so the horizon is back! Jan won together with his partner Laura Rominu the third price in AIAF, the international Art Fair in Amsterdam.
