In 1974 she sold her house, left her teaching position in rural Illinois to move back to Chicago, making her home and studio in a former charcoal factory. At the Richard Gray Gallery she met her husband to be, the famous poet, publisher of Big Table, Paul Carroll. In 1993 she and Paul left their factory loft to move to a farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. It is in this beautiful setting that she continued to work with metal, ceramic, cast stone and resin sculpture incorporating, poetry, sound and water, assisted by her Scottish sculpture partner, Joseph E. Potter. Often they embed poems by her late husband in the sculpture they fabricate.
