About The Artwork

A painting from a series started in 2019, ending in 2020. Initially treated as a therapy, not to be shown to anyone, soon, however, the freedom with which one could approach creation in such a situation brought its fruit in the form of progress in the treatment of a color spot and abstract forms. It is an image whose creation was accompanied by the thought of the title. In fact, it was made while hearing a story from a series about The Witcher called "A Piece of Ice". So it is sharp and painful and cold. And at the same time symmetrically beautiful, structured, transparent, firm and stable. It has confidence and inevitability, and at the same time fragility. Only someone who appreciates winter and its raw beauty will appreciate it. Someone brave, fearless, with a heart so great and great that it melts every shred of ice.

I am a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. My work is "bipolar": figurative and abstract. Both ways complement each other and inspire. Although seemingly they seem to be completely separate, they "nourish" my work, not letting myself burn out. Their common part is color and a reference to dreams, in which nothing is impossible, and parallel worlds permeate. My art is my way to enjoy the world, its beauty and share it with people. In my abstract works, I consider each painting as a separate world, a separate reality that I discover and explore. I like to use forms and shapes associated with nature. Forms similar to leaves, boats, stones, scales. Contours of known reality in an unknown world. I observe their interactions among forms and colors. They float in them and define this world, organize, or allow this world to define it. https://issuu.com/arthabens/docs/biennial.ed.xii
