A Dream of Animal Welfare Painting

Born in London 1944. BA., Dip.Ed., Society of Graphic Fine Art. (SGFA) Bath Society of Artists. (BSA). Senior university lecturer and full time artist since being awarded a Goldsmiths Travel Bursary (drawing and studying Romanesque art in Spain). I generally select a number of drawings that I have done previously, arrange them in a somewhat abstract pattern initially, adjust their relationship to each other and then allow some sort of narrative to emerge. If I had to enunciate a working principle then I think one cannot do better than quote a very unfashionable artist, Corot: "Always place an unknown next to a known". Work includes abstract and representative styles in a wide range of media - sculpture, print, oil, watercolour, and pastels.
