This piece is part of my series on works on lakes and small water bodies in and around the bountiful and blessed California geography where I live and work from. This work was inspired on one of those clear days when the bright sunlight shone on the clear lake water and enhanced the blue tones further.It just invited me to soak in the sun and enjoy the water view and later put that on canvas to enjoy and share. The painting is done with oil paints on a gallery wrapped canvas and is textured and rich. The sides are painted black for a finished look. I was born in India and currently reside in California since the last 15 years. My background is an MBA in Finance and MA in Economics and I have worked in various corporate positions for many years. However, since the last couple of years, I have switched careers to pursuing my true passion, painting and working as a full time artist. I am largely a self taught artist who enjoys the lack of any rules in art and painting, which makes my work free flowing, uninhibited, bold and colorful. I have worked in many mediums over the years but I love the freedom of big, bold, tactile strokes and multi-layering that oil painting allows, and is my current area of focus. My painting style is a mix of abstract and semi abstract portrayals of nature in its full splendor
