About The Artwork
"230224" is the first "post-heroic" output from my "The age of the understatement" series. In a world where attention seems to be the most important currency, it would be nice to dare to be a little more understated. This painting is more than ever an expression of my focus on the behaviour of the materials and the colours. I’m working again with an extra fine textured and very dense linen weave. Pouring the paint directly onto raw unprimed linen allows it to generate organic movement and interesting relationships between transparent color layers.
