10-03-2021 Painting

This painting is the beginning of making Paintings to create Remembrances for myself. A way to remember a time in life. This painting came about from a night of looking at old photographs. In seeing a picture of myself with my Grandma on my Mother's side, I knew I wanted to make a painting that remembered that moment for me, but since I am not a portrait painter, I am taking on the idea in a highly abstract manner by using colors alone to create the painting's remembrance. The colors of my outfit became the inspiration of what colors would be chosen for the painting...minus the blue of my jacket. The picture itself is from the 81-83 era of my life when Mother and I lived at 4072 Beechcreek Road in Whitehall, Ohio.
