Inspired by the artwork of Andy Warhol’s 1967 design for the cover of the Velvet Underground’s first album, ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’. I created the images by photographing and digitally converting the images of the skins of five bananas, each which I had eaten over a period of five days. I wanted to create the feeling and emphasise the belief that immortality can be created from transience. I chose and added an additional colour for visual and dramatic impact.
