About The Artwork
This painting captures the gentle and ordinary moments of life, while also highlighting the innocence of childhood. To create a distorted reality, I transferred photographs onto the canvas using a gel medium, resulting in a glossy finish and an improved surface to work on. The artwork is meant to evoke feelings of admiration, nostalgia, and curiosity. Each transferred image is meant to be discovered and interacted with over time, while the painting as a whole is also meant to be appreciated. The vibrant colours serve to enhance the distortion that arises when we reminisce about past memories.
