Mariana Montalvo is an artist whose production is inspired by the process of healing. Through her work she exposes the capacity of the body to cure itself. In 2008 her career reaches a turning point with her work "El Reflejo" (The Reflection) in which her condition as a woman and the healing of her own body are her main source of inspiration. This is why different images of stars, magic amulets and pictures of the earth from diverses cultures participate in her creation, like an exorcism. Mariana has done exhibitions in Argentina, England, Spain, Italy, and Germany and has produced different design objects such as jewels, female accessories and murals used in public spaces and buildings. Mariana Montalvo has traveled around the world dedicated to explore new methods to teach art, specially to children. It was in Emerson College (London) where the artist lived one of her most significant experiences specializing in the anthroposophical pedagogy (Waldorf education). She also worked at the SELOC sculpture factory of alabaster in Mont Blanc (Spain). Mariana Montalvo graduated with honors from the Figueroa Alcorta School of Arts in 1998 where she specialized in drawing and engraving.
