About The Artwork
The background of this triptych is a 3-part canvas photograph with a world map printed on it. This is still visible in the background in the upper part. Some of the surfaces were covered with pages from the SÜDDEUTSCHE newspaper and I used embroidery with dancing figures. Everything has been sealed with acrylic binder to protect and integrate these materials. My inspiration was current world events: disasters, wars, corruption, climate change and lots of scary news. I countered this with another reality that also existed: cohesion, dance, liveliness and joyful colors such as turquoise, pink, orange, blue, white and gold in dialogue with darker lines and surfaces. A positive and liberating message emanates from this work! The individual pictures can be hung together or separately. See detail photos. There are eyelets on the back so that the pictures can be hung up immediately.
