About The Artwork

Strictly speaking, this work does not belong to the series "The Queen" even if it acts well of the same character. Unlike the other 12 pieces in the series, this one is colorful and the focus is less on the mineral matter than on the story told in the painting. Here, we see a queen who holds her crown in her hand like a tambourine and who seems to dance in front of her window in the evening. The fairly red hue of the set suggests that it is in a room where there is a chimney fire. If you look behind her through the window, you see a village that is being destroyed by fire. This queen is very similar to the Emperor Nero playing music in front of Rome in flames ... The work is made in mixed technique on canvas. It combines photography, digital art and acrylic painting (glossy glazes and raised squares), it is a unique piece. The painting is framed in black (total dimensions : approx. 66 x 41 x 3,5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
