Eva Johnova is a Slovakian born abstract artist residing in Sydney. Eva has always had an artistic side which she initially expressed through her work as a make-up artist in Europe. Since living in Australia she has branched out into the world of contemporary abstract art and design. Nature is Eva’s greatest inspiration – especially the rich colours and textures from her childhood in Slovakia and the various beaches around Australia. Her earliest pieces involved working with found objects such as old furniture, books, newspapers to create environmentally sensitive works of art. She then took inspiration from the ethereal beauty of feathers. She has been using the natural material and also delicate hand crafted paper feathers, during her latest design phase. Inspired by the many beaches around Australia Eva has been inspired to create resin artworks that mimic the beautiful waves crashing on the sandy beaches.
