About The Artwork
The key inspiration for this painting was my three part series titled "Band of Gold." This series was originally painted using acrylic on Arches paper in 2016. When I came across these works again in 2017, I was inspired to digitize the works. The two pieces I’m showing below started out as acrylic on Arches paper gestural paintings. For me, there was a lot in the series to intrigue and inspire. I decided to give the works a digital “makeover” using Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop. “Painting” is always wonderful with the breadth of choices present with digital tools. I was inspired to heighten the color saturation and intensify the contrast to achieve a stronger, more powerful presence as shown. Recently, using this digital “Band Of Gold” Digital Series as inspiration once again, I painted “Figment of My Imagination” completed end of July,2018.
