About The Artwork
I've always enjoyed painting racehorses. My Thoroughbred racehorse paintings were specially created to enjoy as large statement canvases or stylish weekender bags. The Thoroughbred of California and The Maryland Horse were among the favorite magazines of my youth. I followed Thoroughbreds from Buckpasser to Nijinsky, Secretariat to Ruffian. Thoroughbreds continue to fill my sketchbooks with the color, landscapes, and annual events of the classic sport of horse racing. Backstretch Workout is an original painting of a young Thoroughbred racehorse being schooled during an early morning workout on the backstretch.
