This series can be viewed as a spin of from “The bizarre reality of being human”. Going a step further in depicting the conflict human consciousness has with the concept of biology in relation to the self. Decay and mortality are the most intents aspects of biology in relation to the self. When we view humanity as something that can distance it's self from biology we are eventually faced with it. Even our sense of self and our consciousness or soul is a biological phenomena. Our mortality gives us the ability to appreciate and know wonderful things and to treasure every experience. This is what gave me the urge to portrait this conflict in a aesthetic way. To show that mortality is something beautiful and a big part of what makes us who we are as a species. Instead of actually showing the plants attacking a person I thought it was best to leave a good part open for interpretation. The positions of the people portrait suggests a murder but it's not entirely clear if the plant symbolises decay or murder in these scenes. I have found that reactions and interpretations can contrast one and other. For instance some see the plant like structures committing a murder and others see them saving a troubled mind from the pains of human emotions. These are digital drawings.
