Shifting Perspectives (Infants) Installation

Six hand-built wooden tables hold 86 folded clothes, made of fired fabric imbued with clay slip that capture a sense of reverie within domestic routine. The six table heights vary and are separated and staggered to provide a nod to the frequent shifts, disconnects, and serendipity that often occur in daydreaming, as well as add visual interest and provide the viewer with different vantage points. The project is lit with changing natural light to provide opportunities for the viewer to evoke aspects of reverie, and consider the changing qualities of the objects with the play of light on their surfaces and negative spaces between stacked objects. The work, as installed, is very still and quiet.
