About The Artwork

The work consists of two parts: the physically tangible one (little crosses made from wood and wire), and another part which is seen but cannot be touched - the shadows, i.e. the contours of the crosses formed by a light source placed in the middle of the installation itself. Through this work I am trying to question the boundaries of two completely different mediums of sculpture and graphics (graphic symbol). The crosses, as a foundation of every classically-made sculpture, become the focus of my work and the carrier of this installation. The relationship between light and shadow which originates from the light source in the center of the installation itself creates an interesting composition in the installation’s surroundings, and it is this shadow game that I connect with graphic symbols and graphics. An imprint is a medium of graphics as a classical visual art form; however, here it does not exist in its true meaning, but is interpreted in the form of a shadow. As a consequence, a graphical imprint is formed on the wall with the circulation of 1/1. Every time the work is relocated from one space to another, a new situation occurs, and consequently a new “interactive graphic”.
