About The Artwork
Conversation 547-891 consists of four solid hardwood cases containing mixed media pieces documenting a symbiotic relationship between emotional repression and the passage of time. The artwork employs a mix of photographic prints on fabric, embroidery and porcelain details as it is repeats the ‘conversation” in its changing form. From case to case this dialogue evolves as does the delicate shapes within; taking inspiration from the domestic environment with the use of dust, wallpaper pattern, muslin cloth and porcelain elements. These visuals include formations of clay fibers and dust, ripped muslin, fragments of broken porcelain roses and finally porcelain love bird skeletons.
