About The Artwork

This portrait of Trump was inspired for his recent trip to the UK and in response to his 'World' tour and home politics. This image of him grew from his physical shape and his popular caricature. It is loaded with metaphors and symbolism commenting on both his personality and right wing politic. The Mexican Piñata, the KKK mask/Disney and twitter reference are balanced with the skull and all it's meanings. The rattle snakes, as a dollar sign and the 'belt' were inspired by his incredible recital of the 'Snake Song' that is viral on YouTube in his metaphor for immigrants and foreigners. The baby doll made of many races is symbol of both the children 'missing' in the system and the multi-cultural identity of real America. The 'Frankenstein' reference of scars and body parts refers both to the myth of being 'self-made' and the clear removal of his heart and denial of his mothers/wives own immigrant status through my denial of his own belly button. Likewise I have left the windows to his soul blank and the halo clearly exposes his bald head. The subtly inverted cross scar and the swastika stitch and the razor wire halo and 'hanging line' just adds to the commentary on his politic and what I, as an individual, and artist, see that he represents, to me. I felt a lot better after getting this drawing out of my system.
