About The Artwork

Close up view at #artoferikcheung on instagram Rosamunde is one of the delightful pieces under the hand of Schubert. The composer’s works give me always an impression of an ‘off the beaten track’ tone. This work carries the same feeling. As the lines first set the stage, there was not much necessity to question where the inks lay. The obvious point of interest was decided for me and there was no need to seek it out. Some works are like prodigies in the sense that they carry an inborn quality which only requires minimal effort in polishing, but the right push in the right places is vital to its success. The underlying lines within seem complicated at first, but they are very strong backbones to support the shapes. The looseness of the open ended lines along the edge of the image give character and at the same time strengthens my belief in the bridge for a common ground with Chinese calligraphy ideals. I finished this piece two weeks prior to ‘Masks’ and ‘The Butterfly Sword’. It was lying on the table for a name before publishing. Ever since I made the finishing touch, this work urges me for a name that starts with an ‘R’ with three syllables. Strangely enough, I have always hung more around musical people than arty friends since University, even my Instagram page attracts many musical people. So, there we are, ‘Rosamunde’ stands out by linking my work with the musical world.

The findings of my paintings/drawings has gone beyond the discovery stage. The work is substantiated with an authentic concept. Kire has demonstrated a lifetime of exploration in the use of lines, ones that are expressive, experimental and calligraphic. Examining the years, this is a world of his own, Kire’s belief in score music over Klee/Miro’s musical presentations. He brings us a step closer to the musical world in the lines of melody that flow and tie elements tightly into compositions. The intention of where the notation drops should be precise if one is a good composer, therefore the artist should follow suit. Kire believes that grace overpowers trends and fashion. It is this which transcends the images for generations to appreciate. Whichever era we are in, we are that same human possessing the same emotional needs, requiring that same art quality to fill that appetite. ___________________________ THE VISION. Grace does not come overnight and it is the years behind that makes an Art precious. 8 virtual Exhibitions: https://lnkd.in/ggHU4aP    Automatic characters 2.0 https://lnkd.in/gJtzc4J  Automatism between words and lines https://lnkd.in/gNqks86 animated Automatic paintings https://lnkd.in/g9Hcjku Automatic Revelations https://lnkd.in/g4qsxZQ 25 Automatic Extractions https://lnkd.in/gMx8Hgv Automatic Foundation https://lnkd.in/gKTR3Ew Mastering improvisation https://lnkd.in/gdZY4WU Chance Photography
