About The Artwork
I became inspired by human-like trees in 2000 while walking in Riverside Park in New York City. I found this tree in Verona, Italy. I fell in love with the forms so I developed the drawing for my World Tree Series in charcoal on paper. I hope viewers will be intrigued by this mysterious motif and it's complex challenging forms. I like charcoal because it is a drawing medium that is suited to large formats. I enjoy the enigmatic quality of representational art because it does not spell out every detail for the viewer.
