Dreams
Dreams are my nightmare.
They are what I wish were real and what I fear to be true.
That one moment where one is illogically imprisoned in a fiery death-trap among the smoldering remains of a disintegrated flying-machine…
the next falling, without sound, into the soft embrace of an anonymous lover.
Sleep is no less fitful in my maturity but dreams have become real enough to touch, even though the script is unpredictable and borders of surrealism constantly exceeding the necessary.
It is like threading a knife-edge in a blizzard.
Most mornings, half-digested stories crowd the early drive to work.
It makes me smile sometimes, but I rarely understand the implications.
