About The Artwork

We need each other, but we can also be a burden to each other. We can also get used to a lot at the same time. We can sometimes not live with and sometimes not live without each other. And sometimes one of us acts more dependent than the other. The one we wish to lean on we want him to be reliable and steadfast, but unfortunately it is often better to stand on your own two feet. This is a very familiar and old interpersonal phenomenon, so I assume the viewer will recognise something of this. I chose this form of expression and colour palette because red signals and represents stress and presence. The figure on the head seems to make itself as heavy as possible. The recognisability and being able to immediately identify with it through the use of figuration should ensure the viewer's attraction. The aesthetics as a lure and the message comes next!

Born the 31 of July 1964, Stephan B. Reisig lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.Stephan B. Reisig (57) is a painter who has lately been drawing mostly with colored pencils on paper. Sometimes he uses mixed techniques like charcoal/pencil and acrylic paint on paper. The style can be described as realism with a certain aspect of alienation and depersonalization of the depicted individual which gives it an urban anonymity. In his newest series he wants to achieve to express the pureness of used materials and the pureness and directness of the depicted (human/ animal) forms trough painting. And drawing, straight on the canvas. But mostly on paper. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Illustrations-Stephan-B-Reisig/12728531 www.stephanreisig.com / www.lama-topart.nl/catalog_showdetail.asp?type_id=&cat_id=&artist_id=42&
