"Grand Street" was my very first abstract charcoal work. I had no idea what an infinite Pandora's Box it would open. The composition, feeling and primal simplicity speak to me in mysterious ways. ... I'm still working with abstract charcoals today and there is no end in sight. These small abstract charcoal works were made while staying in Brooklyn on my way to London and Paris. I enjoy the simple, organic nature of them. They are suggestive of many different references but nothing specific. I'm very intrigued by them and am currently exploring this direction. ... These first few have sold quickly and look stunning with a large white matte and simple frame.
