About The Artwork

From a safe place where he was born, the young man looked at the increasingly chaotic world of which he is said to be a part. He can't believe it yet, but unfortunately it is true. Most of the time we approach life from the over-urbanized situation, along with a pretty big backpack full of assumptions and beliefs. Based on a partly unconscious conditioning that made life relatively simple until now, we could relatively safely offer weakened criticism, especially on things that are still unknown to us or on things that we simply do not want to know, because it can disrupt our status quo. It is often the other person who does wrong or thinks wrong. The other person has to change. The other person who should have to answer for himself. The other person who has to adapt quickly, and so on. Will this man on his nest tolerate the other. After all, there are enough branches to further expand the nest, right?

Born the 31 of July 1964, Stephan B. Reisig lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.Stephan B. Reisig (57) is a painter who has lately been drawing mostly with colored pencils on paper. Sometimes he uses mixed techniques like charcoal/pencil and acrylic paint on paper. The style can be described as realism with a certain aspect of alienation and depersonalization of the depicted individual which gives it an urban anonymity. In his newest series he wants to achieve to express the pureness of used materials and the pureness and directness of the depicted (human/ animal) forms trough painting. And drawing, straight on the canvas. But mostly on paper. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Illustrations-Stephan-B-Reisig/12728531 www.stephanreisig.com / www.lama-topart.nl/catalog_showdetail.asp?type_id=&cat_id=&artist_id=42&
