About The Artwork
This triptych of scrolls are memory drawings of my grandmothers. Their tatting and lacemaking remnants artifacts sweated the impressions in these monotypes as well as their fortitude and strength to pursue art making. Each 84 x 44 scroll is backed on a silk sari with a scroll pole in wood covered in gold leaf. The tissue pattern pieces are from my 1970s dress sewing collection symbolizing the sewing and lacemaking skills these grandmothers passed along to my generation.
