About The Artwork

“Train from Berlin to Munich 1998” (2014) by Savannah Schroll Guz (www.savannahschrollguz.com) Story behind the work: In 1997 & 1998, I lived in Munich, Germany. On a train back from Berlin, where I had attended a Fulbright convention, I did a series of drawings, one of which provides the basis for this collage. The image, done in blue ballpoint pen as the train made its way back to Bavaria, depicts the train itself and the passing landscape. At the top right-hand side of the collage is the original title I gave the drawing and the date, April 2, 1998. Media: original drawing and vintage paper on black paper board.
