Collage, Paper on Canvas
Size: 38.2 W x 51.2 H x 0.8 D in
Featuring traditional japanese festival icon, 獅子舞/Liondance referring to Ukiyoe woodblock print over 100 years ago. This piece has been made for solo exhibition in Tokyo Shibuya 2022, the society still not taking back normal as before, therefore, these traditional festivals have been canceled and postponed as well. So I decided to depict them in my style for my exhibition, not to forget them. *this art work is available at YUGEN Gallery in Tokyo Japan. Please contact them.

Yoh Nagao is a pop collage artist from Aichi Prefecture, Japan, who has been based in Berlin since April 2012. Currently based in his home town in Japan. After graduating from Nagoya Zokei University, he began working as a graphic designer and illustrator, while freely expressing his unique style as an artist. He gained prominence in Japan after receiving the Uniqlo Creative Award in 2005 (now UTGP), exhibiting at the International Poster Triennial in Toyama, and being selected for the SHIFT calendar design competition. These successes at international competitions led Yoh to expand his work overseas. After a successful first-ever solo exhibition in Hong Kong in 2009, he received an honorable mention in the collage category of the international competition ARTAQ Urban Art Award (France) in 2011. He was invited to participate in the PICK ME UP Contemporary Graphic Art Fair held in London that same year, becoming a serious contender on the international art stage. Since then, he has participated in numerous art fairs and events in NY, LA, Zurich, Berlin, Paris, Angers, London, and Tokyo. In 2008, his work was displayed in famous boutique shop Colette in Paris. With work also published in high profile publications such as LODOWN (Germany), DAZED AND CONFUSED (England), and dpi (Taiwan), Yoh's original style and creativity has become further recognized internationally. He made a long-awaited move to Berlin in 2012, and is continuing to work between Germany and Japan. Today, Yoh is an up-and-coming Japanese artist certain to make waves on the world.
