1988. Little Families
Often for me, painting has a cathartic function like that of dreams: a new event, a desire that does not have the strength to be expressed, a presentiment, an obsession become the theme of a pictorial cycle, and so as the work proceeds , anguish or exaltation dissolve and things get back to their right dimension.
I painted the first families in 1985 in part with this spirit ...
