Growth

Stills from the abstract video, "Growth." The video is composed of thousands of images layered, duplicated and animated. The subject of the images is sodium polyacrylate (a common polymer used in household items such as diapers and decorative artificial snow). Food coloring and studio lighting were used to create the color. Green screen effects and other experimental editing techniques were used to suggest the appearance of mold and to simulate growth. The stills are titled to reflect the time that they appear in the video.
