The flickering between the familiar and strange fascinates me. 

An attentiveness to the daily environment in which I navigate informs a parallel visual experience that I paint and assemble. Keeping a distance from a literal representation keeps me on the threshold of what feels natural versus what seems artificial.  

Through the transformation of material, I consider my relationship to this world.
