Eclectic, possibly eccentric oil painter, deeply in love with the human ability to think in abstractions. Self taught and perversely proud of the fact; I only have my own bad habits and biases, no one else’s. Everything I do is my way of doing it.

I often begin with a word or a phrase, though ideas can come from anywhere, and make a necessarily imperfect attempt to render it in paint, usually in one session, believing that the speed that I work transfers some of the energy to the image.

Mixing styles and genres, I try to be as diverse and unconventional as I am myself. I do not think it’s enough to produce something merely pleasing to the eye. It must be deeper, richer, and subtler. It must provoke and stimulate. It must live on its own merits.

I have sold a number of pieces to private collectors, and three of my works have recently been chosen for the Armageddon Exhibition at the Galerie Marzia Frozen in Berlin for the 7th Berlin Biennale.
