I graduated from Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts, Norway in 2000, and have since been working as an artist in Norway. In October 2007 I started a 3 year period as a PHD candidate in painting at The Bergen National Academy of Arts, Dep. of Fine Arts. In my Phd project I will investigate painting as a way of examining our visual surroundings, especially the internet. Born in 1966, in Karlstad, Sweden, I am currently living and working in Bergen , Norway.

Currently a PhD candidate at the Bergen Academy of Fine Arts, Patrik Entian investigates painting through a multidisiplinary approach were painting becomes a relevant tool for investigating perception and representation in relation to our visual surroundings, especially in a mediated or digital field. His work consists of crossreferences and statements that forces the viewer to reconsider what we actually see.
