Art is where intellectualism ends and emotionalism begins. Where diversity arises out of lack of focus, it is a weakness. In my work, I'm too restless and must pursue styles and themes to wherever they take me and be unafraid of the discomfort and agitation that may arise. I am wary of artists with coherent theories of the importance of their work. I'd rather spend my time tortured over the work than coming up with pretentious titles.
The work is who I am; there is no distance and everything is at stake. Otherwise, why do it?
