Photography allows me to use my body the way I use my brush. I feel the shot as a physical experience. Photography ignites primal senses and languid contemplations.

This work is investigative, introspective and mushroomy. The Market Sleeping series of photographs took three years and is just winding up as I get ready to leave the city. This documentation of the Western Fair Farmers' & Artisans' Market, in London Ontario is part of an ongoing investigation of 'the market'.

The first market photos were done at Orchids Organic Market in Lethbridge, Alberta 2006, Soft black and white shots juxtaposing the artists Food Bank gift along side the markets product. It was a small number of images taken with the permission and support of the market owner.

Issues and explorations: micro verses macro, local verses global, social justice, manufacturing and the artisan, states of rest and withdrawal, foreshadowing, gentle explorations of the hidden, form and light.
