These photos are a selection of cars built and designed during the art-deco period of the late 1920's through the early 1940's. I am especially attracted to the ornate curves, streamline body styling, and rich colors of this era. The first art-deco automobile I encountered was the 1937 Delahaye "Torpedo" and thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Since then I have attended numerous Concours D'elegances, car museums and car shows looking for further examples of these cars with their sophisticated forms, smooth simple surfaces, rich colors, and ornate details. While I photograph cars of all periods and styles, the Art-Deco period remains my favorite.
