Fine Art Photography piece, shot in London in 2017, with a 35mm black and white film. It is part of my ongoing project titled 'The Lonely Body' where I embody the female body as an ideal, symbolic and poetic vehicle form of expression. In this project, I employ the language of nudity as a political action, to tackle issues related to gender, taboo, morality, censorship and provocation. It is also a personal work where I explore the relationship with my body as a woman in the relation to the current cultural context. They are all part of the same body of work and I like to see them as a whole big series that travels in time and expresses every single time a different time of entry. In this case, The Lonely body (Ethereal Bodies, London 2018) I wanted to play with visibility and invisibility, and create a beautiful composition and lay with the light coming from behind. It was a difficult shot as with analogue you don't see the result until the film goes into process and development. I had to calculate all the settings and just feel and see the image before hands. I loved it and regardless I went through a period where I didn't like my body and the way I looked, I manage to find a way to look at myself differently This project became for me a cathartic experience whereby the process of discovering my body take me to realise the tension and the pressure that society exercises on us on a daily basis. Nudity in itself became a way of leaving fear behind and elevating the body itself to a different level. All works are shot by myself and created on set in different cities and I work with both analogue and digital cameras. I am Inspired by neoclassicism, nude photography and the 'Provoke movement, Japanese photography, feminist work and abstract art. I use my body to take self-portraits and experiment with light.

United Kingdom
Italian artist based currently in London. Her artistic practice investigates and questions the persuasive power of the image and of the visual language. Her body of work incorporates intimate yet universal experiences such as loneliness, abandonment, fear for emotional nakedness and failure. In touching on these topics, she aims to create a collision between opposite languages: the unreal and the imaginary, the document and the oneiric, the personal memory and the collective, aiming to trigger reactions by invoking primal and visceral emotions. She employs the photographic medium to create visual access to the many different readings of existence. Her work often addresses elements of sexuality, mysticism, body language and nature, to create a tense narrative that provokes and relives at the same time.
