This artwork belongs to the serie CLIMA. A visual speculation on the perception of climate changes. In this case during the heat wave in Spain last summer at the island of Formentera. It is a small island, with a very delicate natural environment that I have been visiting every summer since childhood. I have seen changes throughout the years of course, but last summer the heat was incredibly intense, and it altered everything. The mood, the people's activities, way of walking, most of all there was a sense of stillness. How to portray it? How to portray this intensity of the weather? The people's mood? I altered the colour digitally to try to show the sense of surrealism, os strangeness even, that we were feeling, in a beautiful way. Prints in smaller sizes are available directly through Saatchi in open editions. Please feel free to contact me with any inquiries. I gladly accept special commissions and requests if you are still unable to find what you are looking for.
