Part of my interest in steel structures linked to The River Tyne in the North East of England. The Tyne was once famous for it's shipbuilding past and although some work takes place; shipbuilding has gone and left the area wanting. I also like the bold abstract, brutal feel to the building and structures along the old ship yards.

I am a painter, photographer and graphic artist living and working on the North East Coast of England. My passions and the things that inspire my work; are my local coastline as we have wonderful beaches and cliffs; which host much wildlife from dolphins to cormorants and gulls. Like many, I am concerned about Climate Change and the natural world and this feeds some of the topics of my work. In regards style, I love high colour and pattern and enjoy solving the problem of marrying all my stylistic loves in single images. I have found that as I am developing as an artist both my painting and photography are becoming more similar in approach.
