About The Artwork
I painted this from my times by the river south of Kyoto, as a weather front was moving in. Exciting times. I am inspired by Turner, Constable, Corot and all artists who paint from nature. I like to handle the oil colors with a direct approach of the brush to give the painting energy and intrigue. This is painted on hand gesso cotton Arches paper. It would look very nice mounted on board and framed with antique wood frame.
