About The Artwork

The common thread is a quilted blanket, a kind of quilt, something warm. The structure from which they are playing is that of classical landscapes and things in general: horizontal, vertical, curved ... The vision, however, to see these landscapes is bedded down, a vision of super hero or super partes, in fact attached to the ceiling, the bed, not for this, it loses its identity, refers to a landscape (I hope), to something else, but it is always read. So mutatis mutandis, what is changed by changing the bed is the bed, anyway. The titles I have given to almost all the pieces are excerpts from films or literary texts. Sweet the rain will fall, the title given to this cycle of works, it is also the title of a short story by Bradbury which in turn cites a poem. And it is also the title from which I started to paint this cycle. There is no human presence, we are already in the future, there is a house and small robot, a dog and everything moves in daily life yet, but lacking humans. Everything is related to them but they are not there.

I was born in the West, too early. What make beautiful and important this historical period that I ‘ve lived until this moment are three events:having studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with Enzo Brunori, some moments of happiness and the tenderness of my lovely dog. My poetry is founded on the words of Aristotele: "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." And it is totalitarian. I often you are what you do and you do what you are. I painted many cities and maps (the same city, Ferrara beautiful, timeless, metaphysical, silent, magical) and animals and landscapes. I explore the absence, loss, emptiness. I consider the single man without putting him on the scene. My themes are nature and culture. Art is my job. I owe a lot to William Shakespeare. I paint my work on both the front and the back. The back is to me as the intimate and everyday life, things that are not seen but they belong to the whole life. And it's like to have to deal with the invisible. So art is one with life, and life is one with the art.
