About The Artwork
This is an original acrylic painting on canvas. It does not come ready to hang. The painting is continued neatly around the edges so framing is optional. This piece was inspired by a recent trip back home to Surrey in England. I was thrilled and exited when I saw what I thought was an escaped pet budgerigar in one of the trees in the garden. I was even more surprised when I discovered this had become a common sight in recent years in England and especially in the county of Surrey. Suddenly there were lots of them! They have settled there due to the milder winters. I was inspired by their amazing brightly coloured feathers against the gloomy english skies.They were completely out of context and this really appealed to me.

Antoinette's paintings are considered 'naive' in style, drawing mostly on her imagination. Her work invites the viewer to enter into her sometimes surreal world of dreams and fantasy. Solitary figures, animals and long shadows are recurring themes where there is always a little light to be found in the dark.
