About The Artwork
This painting is a recent addition to a series entitled 'There and Back '. A series of oil paintings combining different photos taken from a moving car window and marking the passage of time on a routine journey to work. Often recorded at speed, the paintings were impressions of the countryside between the two destinations; home and work. This painting focuses on a flooded plain in a recently ploughed field where the water reflected a particularly intense red sunset. Paint was applied using brush overlaid with palette knife.
